Rodgers gives guy with camera career advice

AP

The proliferation of cheap and lightweight video cameras has added movement and sound to the images typically collected by the paparazzi.  Leading the way when it comes to chasing famous people around with cameras is TMZ.

And one of TMZ’s latest offerings, via NBC 26, from a guy with a camera chasing famous people around includes advice from a calm and collected Aaron Rodgers.

In the first encounter, the Packers quarterback breezes by as the operator tries to ask him questions about Colin Kaepernick wearing a Dolphins hat.  Later, as the camera guy asks Rodgers what he thinks will happen to Aaron Hernandez, Rogers says without stopping or turning toward the lens (but with what appears to be a little bit of a smile), “I think at some point you’re gonna get a real job.”

Some other guy then blurts out, “This is a job how you think you get in the magazine?”

I haven’t bought many magazines lately (then again who has?), but I didn’t realize they now include video and audio.

  1. Any work done for compensation technically equates to a real job. As opposed to a fake job, where you pretend to work, and nobody pays you.

    Rodgers could have done better…

  2. He’s just so above everybody else.

Talking to someone as great as Erin Rogers should be considered a privilege.

    SMH.

  3. The camera guy was wearing a Vikqueen Helga Hat and a rainbow T-shirt with “Rick Spielman is a Hermaphrodite” on the back.

  4. A pro athlete telling anybody to get a real job is a joke. Not saying they don’t work hard or have talent but doing what kids do at recess isn’t a real job.

A$$hat. Paparazzi are the lowest of the low jobs there are.

  6. Are there seriously people here commenting, that honestly are gonna BS themselves into siding with freaking paparazzi ?

Do you honestly hate the Packers and their star Player that much that you’ll honestly stoop this low?

What next? If Perez Hilton trolls Brady, you’re gonna side with Perez?

    SMH.

  7. A better question would be, “Do you have any thoughts on your business partner’s connection to the steroids clinic?” He did cover for him after all.

  8. Taking pictures for a living is stupid. He should do something more meaningful with his life … like ummm throw a leather ball to people.

You’re not exactly curing cancer there at Lambeau Rodgers.

He’s not an oncologist or anything but the work he does with his charity to raise money for kids with cancer seems to be a good start in finding a cure – probably more than anything dylanssongwriter has ever done.

  10. Aside from his QB talent, this display of drollery is why I like Aaron Rodgers.

He shooed these pests off without vulgarity and with the pitch perfect disdain they deserve. He an unpretentious, red-blooded American straight-talker.

Oh the “real job” comeback. Bro, his job is as real as yours. I really wanna like A-Rod, but he just makes it so damn hard.

You really think that what TMZ does should qualify as work? These people aren’t reporters, they are just people trying to catch celebrities in embarrassing moments. They are trash.

  12. The ones siding with this trash show their intelligent level and why we have to put with paparazzi. If people would stop holding what they do with any value they would go away yet here we see mouth breathers siding with the trash.

This is the equivalent to saying Networking Engineers don’t have a real job because everyone plays on a computer at home. Or being an Accountant isn’t a real job because everyone manages money every day.

  14. Or being a photographer isn’t a real job because everyone has a camera?

Buckybadger, thanks for questioning someone else’s “intelligent” while butchering the English language. It is one of my favorite things.

While I agree with Dexter to a point I feel lawyers and sales people (insurance, cars, realty, etc.) are lower.

  16. And Rodgers continues his personal attacks and putdowns on just about everybody from fellow NFL players to regular people …

  17. I don’t know if there is an NFL player alive who hasn’t uttered the words “It’s a business.” But I wonder how many of them have connected the dots to it being an *entertainment* business…just like TMZ.

Give the people what they want, whether it’s a fantastic football game or an opinion on Kaepernick’s misguided fashion sense. cha-ching! cha-ching!

  18. Rodgers has started a fight with the media so cant afford a bad season. everything he do will be talked about. lose a game ( like he will against the 49ers ) or throw a INT like he will against the 49ers. the media will start talking about him and asking was he worth his new contract. and if he dont make the playoffs Ohh man!

  19. Don’t worry, chitown, the Packers play the bears, Vikings, and lions twice. 6 wins there, plus the steelers, browns, bengals, eagles, cowboys, and Redskins… 13-3 or 14-2 seems about right.

That should be good enough to win the division by five games and close to home field advantage.

That’s what you said last year.

  21. I’m questioning ShAarons contract to this day.
Now, if he were an Iron Man Legend gunslinger like his predecessor, than there may be some factor of excitement to persuade my opinion.
Otherwise, ShAaron is a boring rich prude with no ambition to improve b/c everyone says “he’s elite.”
“#6 of top 100.” His voting peers got it right.

    “oopsie,” I just trolled again.

  22. Wow, Aaron gave the paparazzi the same brush off that he gave that cancer survivor who was seeking a simple autograph. Classy.

  23. Rodgers beat that guy down just like the twice yearly beat downs he delivered to the hapless, tasteless Vikings and Bears in each of the past 3 seasons.

  24. Wow, there are actually some folks out there thinking that being an NFL QB is the equivalent of being a TMZ reporter. If I ever see a TMZ reporter running for their lives from JJ Watt, Von Miller, or Clay Matthews, I’ll consider the comparison.

  25. talking about greenbay winning the division LAST YEAR aint gone change
the fact that Rodgers just put his self in a jackpot with the media. greenbay cant beat the 49ers on the moon and they definetly cant beat them in S.F. so Rodgers can look for the media to come after him right from game #1.. the media will do the’re job and Rodgers will see how real it is

  26. Lmao u guys are dbags, everyone loves to hate rodgers THAT much they are tradhing him for making a little joke at the scummiest of scum trades, papparazzis? Btw it ISNT a real job, they just stalk and bombard famous people and try and sell what they get, they generally arnt actually employed. Just trying to scrounge a nickel out the kaep cap and AH stories.

    who?

  28. Now every little thing Rodgers do will be blew up by the media cause now they dont like him. INT.. we’ve yet to see Rodgers show up this season. lose a game.. was Rodgers worth his new contract.. Get hurt.. was Rodgers over rated.. the media will fight back hard so dont belive this is over.

  29. @chi01town,
Since when does Rodgers speak to the paparazzi after he loses games? He speaks to real media, who all seem to like him, unlike your tool of a qb. Nobody likes that guy. And you keep saying that the packers can’t beat the 49ers. What happened to you constantly saying the Bears will beat the packers? Did you finally realize your team just sucks, so you jump on the bandwagon of the team the packers are struggling against?
