The 49ers worked out wide receiver Austin Collie in June, but they want to get through July and August before they consider bringing him in.
According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the 49ers still have interest in the often-injured wideout, but they want to see some of their own young receivers in camp and the preseason before they make a move.
The 49ers used a first-rounder last year on wide receiver A.J. Jenkins, only to effectively redshirt him, and have a number of other unproven candidates to replace the injured Michael Crabtree.
Collie had also worked out for the Patriots since being released by the Colts.
