Lions defensive end Ronnell Lewis has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors stemming from an April bar fight in Norman, Oklahoma.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Lewis pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of disturbing the peace and public intoxication and was given a six-month deferred sentence.

Lewis, who played his college football at Oklahoma, paid $400 in fines and court costs. If Lewis doesn’t get in trouble again in Norman in the next six months, the no-contest pleas will be removed from his record and the charges will be dismissed.

In the April incident, Lewis and the man he fought with had to be dragged out of a bar, and a police officer twice used a Taser on Lewis to subdue him.

A fourth-round draft pick of the Lions last year, Lewis was a special teams player as a rookie but is expected to get more playing time on defense this year.
