The Packers and safety Morgan Burnett have a new deal.

Burnett has signed a four-year contract extension worth $24.75 million, with $8.25 million guaranteed, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

A 2010 third-round pick, Burnett had been negotiating a new deal with the Packers in recent weeks. He was heading into the final season of his rookie contract and could have entered free agency in March, but now the Packers have locked him up.

Burnett became a starter at the beginning of his rookie season, which was cut short by a torn ACL. He has started all 16 games in each of the last two seasons.
