There will be no such restrictions on Ware when the Cowboys open up training camp on Sunday. Ware referenced his jersey number when said the shoulder is about “94 percent” and said he felt the final improvement will come when he’s out on the field “banging around a little bit.”
“I’ll be out there doing everything from all the drills to all the plays they want me to do,” Ware said, via Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com. “I know how it’s going to go and it’s going to go well.”
Ware’s been banged up here and there in recent seasons, but he’s never missed a regular season game so the Cowboys can feel safe about planning for a 2013 season featuring Ware pressuring quarterbacks. While there will be some adjustments in the move from outside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment to his new spot in Monte Kiffin’s 4-3 look, Ware shouldn’t suffer too much since his prime responsibility remains the same in both schemes.
He’s there to get after the quarterback and it doesn’t look like the Cowboys will have to wait long to see him do it.
