Jason Peters clears up drag racing charges

All things considered, it wasn’t a bad day at the courthouse for Eagles left tackle Jason Peters, who avoided an arraignment and stands about $1,999,343.50 to the good.

In addition to settling a lawsuit over a broken walker and pocketing around $2 million earlier in the day, Peters has cleared up his drag racing charges.

According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Peters paid a $656.50 fine after drag racing charges were reduced to driving with improper equipment and resisting an officer by flight. He avoided a July 15 arraignment by paying the fine, and the Monroe, La. district attorney’s office said the case was now closed.

“We are glad to hear that the issue has been resolved,” the Eagles said in a statement.

He’s now clear to report to training camp next week, and we hope he gets there via something sturdy and slow.
