Jets ditch plans to land helicopters at team facility

The New York Jets already are 0-1 in 2013.

Facing a July 22 hearing on an effort to install a helipad at the team’s Florham Park, New Jersey facility, the Jets have withdrawn the request, according to Justin Zaremba of

The Jets filed the application in May, sparking objection from Florham Park and Madison residents to the noise that would be created by helicopters taking off and landing there.  An online petition produced hundreds of signatures in opposition to the proposal.

The request could be resubmitted in the future, since it was withdrawn “without prejudice” to the rights of the party requesting it.  Until then, visitors will have to rappel from the aircraft to the ground.

If Rex Ryan is taking his ego with him, won’t he need a Chinook?

This is for that rich spoiled brat Woody Johnson
There is a perfectly good airport in Morristown a few miles away.

So you will have to sit in traffic like the rest of the world I can see wanting to leave in a hurry so just get a fast Limo.

This clown takes a copter to home games and ties up traffic so he can get to his machine he leaves faster the fans do after a jet game.

How the Jets lose this is they withdrawn it? Just another media bs article to try and make jets look bad.

The airport distance from their facility could be measured in yards not miles. Its ridiculous.

  9. germanstingray says: Jul 18, 2013 6:57 PM

Maybe they could ask to land jets there.

Hey if you owned the Jets you would want to leave in a hurry as well. Surprised Woody didn’t request a Supersonic Jet landing strip.

Well either the ESPN crew will have to drive, or they have already moved to Foxboro.

The Jets wanting to use helicopters sounds just about right. Just like 4 and 12 does.

I think they are just afraid of the helicopter crashing and burning a couple weeks into the season.

For a second I thought the Jets were considering signing Sage Rosenfels.

Rex needs a chinook if he takes his stomach with him.

jetslakersfan……..the Jets don’t need any help looking bad. They are doing it all by themselves.

The arrogance of the 1%ers continues to astonish. Yet, these multibillionaires cry poor and beg/ demand hundreds of millions in taxpayer money for their lavish palaces.

I was thinking about the Jets today. They have to lose the ‘snicker factor’. I think it started with the kissing Suzi Kolber incident (or maybe the Favre sexting scandle) but there’s something about the Jets that just makes it hard to take them seriously. I mean when your entire season can be summed up by the phrase ‘ButtFumble’, your franchise has problems.

The New York Jets already are 0-1 in 2013.

This has got journalistic buttfumble written all over it since camp hasn’t even opened yet.
