The Browns have signed seventh-round pick Armonty Bryant, the club said Friday.
Bryant’s NFL career did not get off on the right foot. He was arrested for DUI on May 3, six days after the Browns selected him No. 217 overall. He quickly pleaded no contest to the charges, and the Browns have kept him on the roster. If he is to make the Browns, it would figure to be as a reserve.
In an interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer in June, Bryant said he was working to make healthier decisions, telling the paper he had stopped drinking.
Bryant, 23, notched 27.5 sacks in three seasons with East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
