DeSean Jackson doesn’t sign with Jay-Z after all

Philadelphia Eagles Vick, Jackson and Polk sit dejected on the bench during their 27-6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals during the second half of their NFL football game in Phoenix Reuters

After the release of his critically acclaimed (or something) single with Snoop Dogg, Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson apparently decided he didn’t need Jay-Z after all.

While speculation mounted that Jackson would sign with the rap mogul-turned-agent, Jackson has apparently chosen to go with established agent Joel Segal instead, according to Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal.

Segal also represents Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, whom Jackson has been supportive of recently.

While Jackson signed a “five-year” contract with the Eagles in March 2012, but the significant guarantees were all in the first two years of the deal, and the base salaries rise sharply next year. That puts Jackson back into what seems a perpetual negotiation, and now he has someone to handle it.

He made a song with Snoop. Of course he’s not going with Jay. You know, east vs west

When I heard Jackson had a new rap single I was looking forward to something really artistic and progressive… you know, something really outside-of-the-box and inventive.

Needless to say, “Diamonds On My Neck” delivers. The true pinnacle of recent music by which future generations will judge this era of entertainment on our planet.

This guy wants a new contract one year after signing his current deal? Up yours, kid, honor the one you have first!

Nowhere in the article did it say Jackson would be or “wants a new contract one year after signing his current deal”. Go back and re-read it.

He signed with Segal because he thought he was related to Steven Segal. He wants to get in on some low budget action movies to go along with his love of bottom feeding music and football team.

If he puts up 85 catches for 1450 yards and 12 TDs…I could negotiate his next contract. It isn’t rocket science.

Do you think Jay Z rhymes all his meetings?

“Hey Desean Jackson how does it go, I saw you grab a td from that terrible throw, your team came in last cuz your o line didn’t have any flow, would you like to snort a line from my plate of blow or maybe off the back of this replaceable ho?”
