Report: Free agent WR Bert Reed suspended four games

Wide receiver Bert Reed, most recently with the Steelers, has received a four-game suspension from the NFL, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reported on Wednesday. (A nod to for pointing this out.)

The 25-year-old Reed had two stints on the Steelers’ practice squad toward the end of the 2012 season. Pittsburgh added Reed to the roster in January but waived him on April 30.

Reed (5-10, 183) signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent in May 2012. He played collegiately at Florida State. The nature of his suspension is unknown.

Yes. As soon as the Steelers FO gets an indication of a problem-player, they release him. Then other teams, like the Colts, scramble to sign that Steeler cast-off.
