49ers place four players apiece on active-PUP, active-NFI lists

The 49ers have placed running back Kendall Hunter, wide receivers Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams and linebacker Darius Fleming on the active-PUP list, the club said Saturday.

Also, the club said it has put running back Marcus Lattimore, defensive tackle Tank Carradine, defensive tackle Quinton Dial and offensive tackle Luke Marquardt on the active/non-football injury list.

With the exceptions of Hunter (Achilles), Dial (toe) and Marquardt (foot), the players listed are all on the mend from knee injuries. All eight players count against the 49ers’ roster limit of 90. They can remain on these lists until the 49ers make their final roster cuts, the club said.

  1. I thought Lattimore was supposed to be ready to go this season. Instead he is just standing around with his hands on his hips.

  2. Nobody ever said Lattimore would go at all this season. He said maybe in the second half. 49ers have always considered him a “red shirt” thia year.

  3. Who you get your info from? Lattimore is the future and baring abunch injuries at RB he won’t see the field until 2nd half of season or next year. There being smart and not over working him like in Carolina. Niners got depth all over and I’m excited for the games to start.

  4. Yeah, no sense in rushing Lattimore. That kid is gonna be a beast for years to come, provided he heals right. We should get another good year from Frank, let Lattimore take the mental reps and learn offense, and we will have a seamless transition. We rush the kid, it’ll cost us either a high pick in next years draft, or over paying in free agency to find an equally dynamic playmaker
