Slimmer Ryan finds it easier to run away from bulls

Rex Ryan AP

The new, slimmer Rex Ryan was able to run with the bulls not once, but twice this offseason.

In years past, the bull might have run from him.

Down to 230 pounds from his previous 348, Ryan said the experience was definitely different than it would have been before.

I would have taken him on!” Ryan said, via Steve Serby of the New York Post. “He would have avoided me instead of the other way around. That’s what really would have happened, I think.”

Ryan completed the famous Pamplona, Spain run one day with his son Payton, the next day with his wife Michelle. The second day was the more intense, as he said more than 20 runners were injured.

“You’re like, ‘Whoa, I can get trucked by this bad boy,’ you know what I mean?” Ryan said.

Of course, with a 36-inch waist instead of his old 50, Ryan’s better able to avoid becoming one of the trucked.

When I first heard about the Running of the Bulls I pictured like one hundred bulls running. So I was obviously disappointed to see a measly ten parading down the streets. Not very climactic.

His feet also feel much better not carrying all that extra weight around.

Hey Rex, congrats on the weight loss, but most people do buy new smaller clothes after dropping a buck-18…

I was rooting for the bull.

There are 6 bulls in the daily run at Pamplona. They are accompanied by 6 steers in an attempt to keep the bulls in a herd. It doesn’t always work out that way.

If the bull running league was in America, the PC police would force the commissioner to make the bulls hit runners below the waste.

He should’ve brought his boy Sanchez with him to practice getting away from Butts, oh, eh-hem. Bulls!

Rex wasn’t injured by the bulls, but Spanish guys in tights kept sticking short spears in his back and shoulders.

Is this guy still on the jets payroll?

It’s tough to lose that kind of weight and inches at his age without the help of adderall. (I’m not taking a shot at Ryan, but adderall seems to be behind 99% of these miracle weight transformations).

    230? I’m getting nervous.

348 pounds or more that bull still would’ve messed him up

OK, good for him, but there is no way that he has a 36″ waist at that weight. He just wears his pants below his belly.

Sucking toes instead of gallons of gravy and biscuits at the buffet line will drop all kinds of weight off of anyone!!

I saw that Wrecks Ryan vid on YouTube – it was 2 minutes of Wrecks trying to climb over a fence. In minute 3 you actually catch sight of a bull.

I’m not a huge fan of having surgery vs just cutting back and exercising but I give RR credit: he’s kept the weight off for a few years unlike a lot of other people.
