Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, who missed almost all of 2012 with an Achilles tendon injury, caught the eye with his play during the first day of training camp practices, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reported Sunday.
Grimes, Salguero observed, “looked great in practice” on Sunday. Moreover, Grimes didn’t even have the injured area of his leg taped, which the cornerback indicated to be a matter of personal preference, per the Herald.
“I never do, I don’t like it,” Grimes said of taping, per the Herald. “No reason to.”
Grimes, 30, suffered the Achilles injury in the Falcons’ opening-week win at Kansas City. He signed a one-year contract with Miami in March. He’s slated to start for the Dolphins, and as long as he remains healthy, he’ll be up to that task.
