Jay Ratliff, Mackenzy Bernadeau suffer hamstring injuries

Hamstring injuries suffered during training will land Cowboys defensive tackle Jay Ratliff and right guard Mackenzy Bernadeau on the active / physically unable to perform list to begin training camp, Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas reported Sunday.

Bernadeau’s injury further thins the club’s guard ranks for the time being. Left guard Nate Livings (foot) and reserve guard Ronald Leary (calf) have been placed on the active/non-football injury list, per Archer.

While on the mend to begin camp, Livings and Bernadeau started all 16 games a season ago for Dallas.

Ratliff’s injury may give some of Dallas’ interior-line reserves a few more reps. The Cowboys are not especially deep behind Ratliff and Jason Hatcher.

Also of note: Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said Saturday rookie center Travis Frederick will get some reps at guard. Certainly, some practice snaps are for the taking if Dallas is inclined to give them to Frederick.

Here we go again. SOS. Just look up hamstring injury in a medical journal and see a Cowboy as an example.
