Patriots add rookie CB Justin Green

The Patriots have signed rookie cornerback Justin Green, the club said Sunday.

Green, 22, made 16 combined starts in his final two seasons at Illinois. He recorded 36 tackles in 12 games (11 starts) in 2012.

Green was a collegiate teammate of Patriots tight end Michael Hoomanawanui, safety Tavon Wilson and defensive lineman Michael Buchanan.

With Green joining the club, the Patriots now have 89 players, one short of the limit of 90, according to the club’s online roster and when adding Green to those listed.

The Patriots’ first training camp practice is Friday.

After seeing what the Niners did to them, their entire draft should have been defense…..oh yeah, and a tight end.
