Jameel McClain and Marshal Yanda land on PUP list

Marshal Yanda AP

One of the rites of training camp is learning which players recovering from injuries aren’t quite ready for a full workload yet.

For the Ravens, you can add linebacker Jameel McClain and guard Marshal Yanda. The team announced both players will be on the active PUP list to start camp, which means they cannot practice with the team until they’re activated. Once they do practice, they can’t go on the regular season PUP list although that hasn’t been discussed as an option for either player at this point.

McClain is recovering from a spinal cord contusion he suffered last December and did individual work during OTAs. He’s expected to join Arthur Brown and Daryl Jones as options at inside linebacker, where the Ravens lost Ray Lewis and Dannell Ellerbe this offseason.

Yanda is making his way back from shoulder surgery. Coach John Harbaugh said in June that he expected Yanda to be “back by camp to some degree.” Whatever degree it is falls short of 100 percent, although the right guard and No. 58 player on the PFT 100 is expected back at his post for the season.

The Ravens also placed defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore on the non-football injury list. The sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame tore his ACL in the BCS title game and is seen as a long shot to do much for the team this season.

Rather have them healthy for the regular season. Sit out and come back healthy.

Saw that over the weekend. It’s bunk. It’s on a fake news site.

Man I’d love to take a shot at these guys being on the PUP because they’re overweight and out of shape. But spinal cord injuries are off-limits, even for me.

Here’s to a full recovery McClain. Looking forward to seeing you healthy enough for Pouncey & Co. to steamroll you, as usual.

    @twilson962 -

    Thanks.

Some guy at work was ranting about it today —I couldn’t find any confirmation.

    Now, I know why….

I remember a time when Steelers fans used to tell Ravens fans that beating the Steelers was OUR SuperBowl. Now it appears the tables have turned…

an even bigger mystery is who will be dropping big ben’s passes when he isnt throwing soul crushing pick sixes

To all you Ravens homers: stop acting like you’ve owned the Steelers now for years. Last year, obviously you were better (winning the AFC will do that), just like in 08 & 10, we were better. But other than a few non-competitive games sprinkled in here and there, these teams have been beating up on each other equally for the past 5 years, creating the best, most competitive rivalry in professional sports.

Now if only Ravens fans were as level-headed, knowledgeable and reasonable as Steelers fans, you’d be equal in those areas too. That will come with time and experience though.

    This team is sinking fast!

crown…in all honesty i agree with parargraph one. however paragraph 2 seems a bit whiny. if i read it right steelers can trash talk because of their admited past superiority, but when the tables tuen we should just be happy and not say anything? and this coming from you, one of the biggest anagonists on here? truth be told i would love to sit down and have a beer and really talk football with you. but dont pst on here that football fans shouldnt talk trash

Right on scoobs. Truth be told, I was being sarcastic that last paragraph. I’m a die-hard like a lot of my steelers brethren, but “reasonable” and “level-headed” are not words I would use to describe our fan base. Crazy, passionate – those are more appropriate.

In terms of me being an antagonist, you should pay attention to jmf’s posts. Though I actually enjoy his misguided and entertaining shots. Cheers friend.
