Via his verified Twitter account, Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller responded Monday to reports he’s facing a four-game NFL suspension with a brief statement where he indicated he had done “nothing wrong.”

“Seeing reports abt 4 game susp,” Miller wrote. “I know I did nothing wrong. I’m sure this’ll be resolved fairly. Disapp. Broncos have 2 open camp like this.”

Mike Klis of the Denver Post, citing an unnamed source, reported Monday that Miller tested positive for amphetamines and marijuana in 2011.

The 24-year-old Miller is entering his third NFL season. He’s notched a combined 30 sacks in his first two NFL seasons.

  1. Later he issued a clarification:
    “Wrong” – no.
“Illegal” – I refuse to answer on the grounds that it may incriminate me.

  2. For a punishment, he should be required to smoke up immediately before the first 4 games of the season instead of a suspension.

Let’s start making this league FUN again!

  3. Personally I love this sht..

For those who don’t know, Mike Klis is a headline grabbing hack.

These “charges” will go no where.

Broncos WILL be mad at the world this year though. Would not want to be the opposition. Gonna be fun to watch. #hateaway

  4. The two drunks in your front office also think they did nothing wrong.

Maybe you can carpool to rehab.

  5. Thank God the Welker curse has moved west never to darken the halls of Gillette again!

  6. Did nothing wrong, huh? You know, it isn’t just a river in Egypt. If he really didn’t do anything wrong he could sue the Denver Post…that is…if he really didn’t do anything wrong.

  7. Innocent until proven guilty….great to see all the Bronco haters jumping on this. What a shock! If he is guilty he will have to serve his four game suspension like anyone else. But lets hold off on the “cheater” accusations until you know what he did or did not do. Take a deep breath Bronco Haters, gain the facts then come back and post…otherwise you are not worthy of arguing with.

  8. People forget that a few years before Elway was hired into the front office by the Broncos he was a fall down drunk who couldn’t keep his life in order.

You can’t fault a GM for trying to build a team in his own image.

  9. He wasn’t on roids you idiot morons. We are talking about weed and some stimulant that’s probably less power than the stuff I take 30 min before I go hit the gym gimmie a break…

  10. Wow steroids accusations and Shawn Merriman comparisons……at least no one is jumping to conclusions. Keep casting stones Bronco Haters….low class football fans out in force today.

It wasn’t funny the first time you posted it on the other story. I’m not even an AFC fan but this is just stupid. Stop being bitter you lost your top WR and TEs

  12. So, we have another player convicted in the court of public opinion because the NFL can’t keep its drug testing and suspension program secure.

Now even if Miller appeals and the suspension is overturned, he’s still “guilty because it was just a technicality”.

That someone on the inside is able to feed information to someone on the outside makes the NFL look less than competent when it comes to security issues.

Happened with Sherman and Browner last year when their suspensions were leaked to Adam Schefter, happening to Miller now. Guilty until proven innocent….and even if they aren’t proven guilty, they’re guilty anyway, because some people will continue to say so.

I’m all for a rigorous anti-PED program, but for the love of God, start finding the idiots who are leaking this information before it’s meant to come out.

I would like to see all the facts you are privied too. Of course, it wouldnt surprise me to find out you were typing all the hate too when Sherman went through his appeals process. Different team, different set of standards though. Am I right?

  14. He must have contacted the banned substances from a toilet seat…the same way many get VD.

  15. There’s nothing wrong with a little shrubbery, if you catch my drift. I’m talking about marijuana. There’s nothing wrong with marijuana.

  16. Remember when Kevin Faulk of the Pats got busted with grass in his jacket pocket and he — in his own words — “took full responsibility” by saying it wasn’t his? The Patriot Way indeed!

  17. Hey Bauer49…I wasn’t aware that there was such a thing as Bronco Haters. Thought most fans just forgot they were a relevant franchise since they haven’t been close to winning a SB since 1999.

  18. Reading Miller tested positive for extasy, not pot or stimulants and recently, not in 2011.

  19. Oh ok, nevermind guys he said he didn’t do anything we can leave him alone now.

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, it isn’t wrong to smoke weed, it’s only illegal.

  20. screen pass throws out false accusations of Elway being a drunk….wow talk about Petty Hatred…Jesus…get over it…Elway is a two time superbowl champ and a hall of famer and he is in the top 5 quarterbacks of all time. You can throw out all you BS accuastions you want, but in the end you are still a moron.

  21. Keep your head up Von.

If you truly are not guilty, then the person who leaked the suspension info should be outed and publicly demonized as you have/will be.

  22. I’m no Broncos fan, but let’s be fair to the guy. He hasn’t even been officially suspended yet. This is an unconfirmed report from an anonymous source claiming that at some point in the unknown future he will be suspended for an unspecified violation of an unnamed policy. That’s about as vague as rumors come.

    The next Shawne Merriman….
    ———————-

Uh, not fair. You could send us non-roided Von Miller and we will not only happy take him, but the whole city of buffalo will bet the ‘Vegas Line’ that Miller is AT LEAST twice as productive as Shawn Merriman. Miller is just clearly smarter, and more talented than Merriman.

Not trying to rag on the guy, but Merriman without ‘roids hits a magnitude beyond defining with words. But I usually go with “That guy is a huge bum.”

  24. Very rarely will you ever hear someone say” Guilty as charged…..Lock me up for whatever years you want, suspend me or cut me….I am Guilty, no doubt about it!!”

  25. Nothing worse than when someone is caught dead to rights and they still can’t own up to it.

  26. … and Denver and its fans are still convinced they did nothing wrong, cheating on the Salary Cap in order to win their two tainted Super Bowls.

That still remains the largest fine and punishment in NFL history, making Spygate a minor offense in comparison.

  27. Ccolgain,
If you are not sure that there are bronco haters try reading the reader responses to the miller story. You are right Denver hasn’t won a superbowl since the 1998 season. Broncos made the AFC championship in 2005 and were within one play of the AFC championship last year. For the record, Denver played its worst game of the season against the Ravens and still had them beat with less than a minute to play. Denver gave the Ravens a better game than the all mighty niners did in the Superbowl. Vegas has the favorites this year as the Niners and the Broncos….dont be jealous I am sure your team will watch the game on TV.

  28. Hope all the Bronco fans that hated on Sherman last year will now understand why it’s complete BS to have something like this leaked by a “so-called NFL Insider”. Frankly it’s a violation of due process and a violation of privacy IMO. Adam “Pretty Boy” Scheffler should be out of a job.

  29. Cartire,
How are things in the land of assumption? No one has the facts on the miller story and that includes you and I. Prejudging someones guilt is sad and pathetic. As for your seahawks comparison, its without merit. The seahawks CB was found innocent and justice was done. The Seahawks CB thinks he is the best in football…good for him he should think that. So actually its different team same standard same rules for all players. Its pretty simple stuff actually and yes that means you were not right. Don’t stress enjoy the season. Seahawks and Niners are the favorites and both should be great this year.

  30. Meh.

4 games off for Miller will only mean fresher legs for the rest of the year and on to the Super Bowl.

Elway’s plan is an unstoppable offense, that why he signed Wes and pretty much ignored the defense. Watch as they put 35 points up before halftime every week and win 14 games.

    #bronconation

  31. joe sixpack,
If you read the articles about the fines the money Denver saved was used on stadium construction, there was no competitive advantage unlike the Patriots Spygate Scandal. Building your stadium vs taping your opponents plays….. Its comparing apples and oranges and the Broncos two superbowl wins are not tainted. Hope that clears up your confusion.

  32. Gonna be a easy road to win the AFC again for the Ravens…

Big thanks to Pats and Broncos for taking huge steps back this offseason

  33. I’m a Bears fan , hopefully the truth comes out. They rarely go after someone for no reason and Von seemed to be more on the GOOD NFL PLAYER poster-child that they could say hey here is how it’s done.

  34. HAHA! It’s funny to see all the guys that jumped the gun for PEDs. It’s marijuana which is no laughing matter. Without Von, it will hurt, but our first 4 games only consist of 1 division game and that’s the Faiders. As long as we have Peyton Manning, we stand a solid chance to win.

Lets stop the idiotic comments, you are giving pats fans a bad name and we have a pretty respectable group of commenters most of the time.

Relating to the story it looks like Von. Was on said drugs when he wrote that twit or tweet whichever is the proper word for the context
