Ballard exits PUP list

Unfortunately for the Patriots, tight end Jake Ballard started the year on the PUP list. ¬†Fortunately for the Patriots, Ballard wasn’t on there long.

Per multiple reports, Ballard passed his physical and exited the Physically Unable to Perform list on Tuesday, which means that he’ll be ready to go when training camp begins on Friday.

The Patriots, who were criticized last year for plucking Ballard on waivers at a time when they had Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez with freshly-minted multi-million-dollar extensions, need Ballard now, desperately.

They also need Gronkowski and receiver Julian Edelman, both of whom remain on the PUP list.

Ballard tore an ACL while playing for the Giants in Super Bowl XLVI against the Patriots.

The Lions need to create room for a couple of rookie TEs. Wanna trade for Tony Scheffler? Please?

One year later and that move looks like a work of genius.

I personally would like to see what that Zach Sudfeld kid can do. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ballard ends up losing out to him in final cuts.

I second that motion. Trade Scheffler.

People tend to forget that Ballard is a very good tight end. He will be a probowler this year

How are the cameramen doing? That will determine how successful the Patsies will be.

Jake Ballard is the man for sure, watch him try to run on the sideline during the last SB the Giants beat you in. Watch the moves the dude puts on secondaries all that year, plus he hasn’t been accused of murder except maybe this move he put on I think Terrance Newman last year he was with Dallas, that may have been murder.

this is some great news for all us Patriot fans. irregardless of who is there come week 1-22, the patriots will win because of the run game. Ballard should provide great value in both the pass and run game. May never be his old self athletically but will be wiser.
