The New Orleans Saints announced Tuesday they have signed safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah and waived cornerback Ryan Steed.

Owusu-Ansah has appeared in 14 games with the Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars in two seasons in the league. Owusu-Ansah was a fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2010 out of Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He has also spent time on the Oakland Raiders practice squad and was a tryout player during offseason workouts for the Kansas City Chiefs this summer.

Owusu-Ansah has played as a defensive back and wide receiver in his time in the league. He’s compiled 14 tackles with 646 return yards as a kick and punt returner.
