When the St. Louis Rams step on the field for the beginning of training camp on Thursday they will be missing three veterans who will start the season on the physically unable to perform list.

According to Joe Lyons of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, tight end Lance Kendricks, safety Matt Daniels and defensive tackle Jermelle Cudjo will begin training camp on the PUP list. Rookie fourth-round offensive lineman Barrett Jones will also be sidelined as he will be placed on the non-football injury list.

Kendricks and Daniels are working back from knee injuries. Cudjo and Jones both are dealing with foot injuries.

Head coach Jeff Fisher said he expects Jones to be able to begin practicing in the next couple weeks.

“He’s not quite ready. He’s close, but he’s not quite ready. He’s doing really well right now. It’s a short time period, maybe a week or two,” Fisher said.

The Rams can activate Kendricks, Daniels and Cudjo off the PUP list anytime before the end of the preseason. If they remain on PUP following final cuts, they will have to miss the first six weeks of the season.
