The Eagles were awarded former Cardinals running back William Powell on waivers on Wednesday, the club said.

The 25-year-old Powell carried 60 times for 217 yards and a touchdown and caught 19 passes for 132 yards for Arizona in 2012. He also returned 21 kickoffs for 507 yards (24.1 ypr).

Said Eagles GM Howie Roseman of the 5-9, 207-pound Powell, per “Good vision, quick, runs really hard, he can also return kickoffs … he’s a little undersized in terms of height but he’s fun to watch because he’s getting yards after contact.”

Powell will compete for a reserve spot behind LeSean McCoy in the Eagles’ backfield. Bryce Brown, Felix Jones and Chris Polk are the other backs on the active roster, with rookie Matthew Tucker on the active / non-football injury list.

In another roster move Wednesday, the Eagles waived wide receiver Nick Miller, a fourth-year pro from Southern Utah.

Why isn’t this article about the Kelly and the Eagles QB situation? Maybe one of the RBs will run the zone/option read?

Kelly’s fast paced college offense needs 8 RBs and about 4 QBs and 12 Wrs. But in the NFL they have that thing called the 53 man roster.

Do the math eagle fan. You remain at the bottom of the nfc where you belong.

floratiotime, thanks for keeping the Dream Team monicker alive.

Do you realize that the original Dream Team in the NBA has won the championship the last 2 years in a row?

So by you keep referring to the Eagles as the Dream Team, you’re telling the world and showing your support for the Eagles to be Champions.

And here I thought you were a rotten person, when all along you are a supporter. Good to see you’re hitching your wagon to the next up & coming team and continual Super Bowl contender.
