Packers agree to deal with Datone Jones

Datone Jones AP

Add the Packers to the list of teams knocking out first-round deals.

According to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Packers agreed to a deal with defensive end Datone Jones.

He’s expected to sign his contract Thursday after taking his physical. The Packers’ first practice is Friday morning, and now they have all their picks taken care of.

Of course, as McGinn points out, their last two holdouts were defensive tackle B.J. Raji in 2009 and quarterback Aaron Rodgers in 2005. So maybe being on time isn’t that big a deal.

Packers are not going to be good this year. Defense is terrible and offense is getting slow. Players are constipated on cheese. #fiberone

the d is set now. This team has been overlooked this year and they will respond by winning their 5th superbowl.

If I was a future bust like Datone Jones I’d probably hold out for as much as possible too.

Get that deal in writing Datone because lately certain packers haven’t been keeping their word!

Gee, from all the WI hating dribbled spat from between the front teeth missing mouths of the MN Empty Trophy Case Clan you’d think nobody would want to sign with the Packers. Yet here we are going into preseason training and the vikes still don’t have any of their 3 first round draft picks signed. It seems the new monument to their stupidity (stadium) isn’t serving as the golden carrot they’d hoped it would.

Is that last comment supposed to mean that BJ Raji is some great player?

    I agree, to an extent.

He doesn’t need to be a pro-bowler/future hall-of-famer. I’ll take it if I get it, but I don’t need it.

I just want him to be better than “just a guy”. As fans I want to be glad he’s on our team.

I want him to improve the defense front 7, not just blend in.

Agreed. That would certainly be an improvement over most of TT’s first-round picks.

For a team that traded up to make three horrible first round picks, you Vikings losers sure do talk a bunch of trash.

Luckily, Packers fans really only have to point out your 0-4 record in the big game to get you all crying.

    Little baby losers.
