In April, the Vikings used three first-round draft picks. As of this morning, none had signed their rookie deals.
Now, all have agreed to terms, completing a Trifecta that presumably included no salted, cured meats.
Following defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (No. 23) and cornerback Xavier Rhodes (No. 25) is receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, the 29th overall selection in the draft. The team separately announced all three deals on Thursday morning.
Regarded as a raw but talented prospect whose contribution likely will fall somewhere between Randy Moss (’98) and Troy Williamson (’05), Patterson gives the Vikings a potentially dynamic presence in offense and as a kickoff-return specialist.
Patterson will wear the number Moss made famous/notorious in Minnesota, and Patterson already has said he wants to be known as Flash or Flashy. Or something.
