Vikings finish deal with Sharrif Floyd

AP

The Vikings entered this morning with three unsigned first-round picks,

The team just tweeted out a photo of 23rd-overall pick Sharrif Floyd signing his contract.

Most likely, the team will be sending out photos of No. 25 pick Xavier Rhodes and No. 29 Cordarrelle Patterson later.

The Vikings report to camp today and practice tomorrow, so there’s still plenty of time to do the two remaining, considering they’re no longer particularly difficult to do.

  1. He’ll do his part to keep the Vikings on their amazing Super Bowl streak.

Also, the defense was worse than the Packers last year, and the best players aren’t getting any younger.

    Christian Ponder is your QB.

Man, must suck to be you guys.

  2. Dallas fans, this must hurt to read. How’s that “Big D”line looking? Way to screw it up Jerry. Vikes fan love you. I don’t know who I want Sharrif to crush first, Stafford, Cutler, or Rodgers. Probably Stafford since that’s week 1.

  3. @tokyosandblaster If you think the Vikings d was worse than the Packers last year than you must live out in Green bay, shut off from the real world with the rest of u corn fed hillbillies. The Packers D was historically bad. Do some research you hack

  4. Hope for Minnesota he fixes their defense. Because we all know Vikings fans love to say the Packers defense was atrocious and pathetic last season………but Vikings defense statistically was worse than them, so it must have been embarrassingly bad.

    Dear God,

Please send Sharrif Floyd flying into Aaron Rodgers’ chin and knock him out.

    Slappy pappy wah WAH!
    =========================

So not only do you want to see Arod injured, but you want Floyd to do it with an illegal hit to the head?

Is this the low that Viking fans have sunk to?

  6. Floyd…is that the guy who had 4.5 sacks his entire college career?

He’ll be right at home in Minnesota. All hat and no cattle.

  7. Stats wise, Green Bay had a little better Defense but the differences are so small, hard to say it was a runaway better defense.

Less than a point difference in pts allowed.
GB only gave up 13 yards less a game.
GB only allowed 26 less passing yards a game.
MN gave up 13 less rushing yards a game.

    So pretty close.

    ================================

Maybe before you call someone a hack for not doing their research, you should do yours.

    From espn

    total defense

    Yards allowed
    Green Bay Ranked #11
    Minnesota ranked#16

    Pass yards allowed
    Green Bay ranked #11
    Minnesota ranked #24

    Rush yards allowed
    Green Bay ranked #17
    Minnesota #11

    Points allowed
    Green Bay #11
Minnesota (tied with St. Louis) #14

As you can see, the Packer Defense is better than Minnesota’s in almost every statistical category.

I grant you the Packer D wasn’t awesome in a few games (SF in particular), but to say it was “historically bad” is pretty inaccurate.

  9. Uh… vandy, sorry. Pack were 11th in total defense, vikes 16th. Pack were 11th against the pass, vikes were 24th. But hey, pack were 17th against the run and the vikes were 10th, so you got that goin for you. Next time, you may want to, i dont know, look stuff up before talking.

Will be attending my first Vikings training camp this year.

Excited for a great season of NFC North football. Best division in the NFL.

Watching the lavender Larrys trains sounds about as exciting as watching a dog turd dry out on the front lawn.

  11. @mvandy,

What research should I do? The research that shows the Packers were the 11th best defense in regards to points and yards allowed, while the Vikings were 14th and 16th?

    That kind of research?

    Speaking of being a hack…

  12. The Packer defense can only get better, dude. we have AJ Hawk! And actually, I live with my “uncle” on a little worm farm about a 45-minute tractor ride from Lambeau. What – you think those nightcrawlers get into the bait shops by themselves?

  13. Gotta love the hate for the Vikings.

Keep talking, with improvement from Ponder there’s no reason the Vikings won’t be there in January to shut you up and send your team home crying. Enjoy your cheese and whine.

And, yes, our new stadium does look like a glass coffin as it will be the harbinger of your doom.

Wow…….a team that “sucks” split with your team last year…..if Ponder is soooo bad, how can you wrap your head around he beating YOU, and US beating Rodgas!!!!

    MUST SUCK TO BE YOU!!!!!

  15. and the best players aren’t getting any younger.
    —————————

As opposed to all the other players who are getting younger???

It’s this ability to trot out stupid cliches that makes Packer fans the most knowledgeable in their own minds…

  16. Lol, packers D was embarrassingly bad! They were throwing grass @ one another during the Niner game! I heard there was Was even, “your momma” jokes between clay “roids” Mathews and hawk! Hawk was making fun of Mathews long hair, even callled him a girl, cause he couldn’t take Colin Kap down!!! Pathetic

I have never heard the lavender Larrys trains sounds either. Do they sound different than an normal train? What are their sounds?

  18. Yeah, Vikings fans shouldn’t talk about rounds when clearly, if ANYONE in the NFL is juicing, it’s Adrian Peterson.

Didn’t he leave the US for special “treatments?”

  19. Really looking forward to Larry Warford vs Sharrif Floyd when the Lions play Vikings Week 1.

Warford definitely handled Floyd when Kentucky played Florida last fall. should be a good match.

  20. Sharrif Floyd is overrated will get pancaked when he steps foot on the field. No wonder the Cowboys passed on this overrated DL.

    #Ponder@qb..lol

Packer Defense is easily softest in division. A.P. is still running over your HGH linebackers!!
    =========================

Actually, he’s not “still running over your HGH linebackers”.

He failed to crack 100 yards the last time the Vikings and Packers played and his longest run was for 18 yards.

  22. You know, earlier I noted that someone had “zero class” referencing an injury to Aaron Rodgers. Regardless of the classiness of that comment, I admit I may not be the most credible judge of “class”. It wasn’t that long ago that I invoked Korey Stringer’s name in a little comment battle. So, take my opinions about what’s classy with an appropriate amount of scepticism.

  23. Don’t you packer fans ever get sick of being the fanbase equivalent of the weird guy waiting outside your ex’s work to see if a dude picks her up? I’ll lay odds on how many of you have restraining orders on you in real life.

  24. It would be great if all you so called “fans” for the Vikings and the packers would just shut up. What a bunch of middle school kids you are collectively.

It’s ok to have a favorite team and ok to enjoy your teams success, even celebrate when your team beats some other team. But all the BS trying to one up someone else you likely have never met accomplishes absolutely nothing. No different than when you were in middle school, with the possible exception that your verbal vomit doesn’t end up with someone getting punched. Other than that you’re all just a bunch of children who aren’t accomplishing anything. Go do something constructive rather than trying to one up someone who isn’t smart enough to know you bested them or vice versa.

  25. It’s stop wasting time being childish trying to one up someone… Not wasting time with Internet blogs though you may be onto something.
