The Chiefs’ top receiver is not ready to go for the start of training camp.

Dwayne Bowe has been placed on Kansas City’s non-football injury list, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bowe caught 59 passes for 801 yards before missing the final three games of the 2012 season with a rib injury. He signed a five-year contract to remain with the Chiefs in March.

UPDATE 9:22 p.m. ET: Bowe is ill, coach Andy Reid said Friday, according to the Kansas City Star. “I think he’s going to be back pretty quick,” Reid said, per the Star.

    Via Arrowhead Addict:

“According to Reid, Bowe simply has a bad chest cold. Despite that, the veteran WR passed his conditioning test. The team doctors say it is ok for him to be on the field but he is not yet clear to practice.”

So he is at camp, and it’s nothing that serious. Settle down y’all….
