When the Green Bay Packers hit the practice fields for the start of training camp they will be without a sizable group of players that have yet to be cleared to practice.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, the Packers placed seven players on the PUP list Thursday prior to the start of camp on Friday.

The list consists of offensive tackle Derek Sherrod, running back DuJuan Harris, offensive lineman J.C. Tretter, defensive end Jerel Worthy, defensive end Mike Neal and safeties Sean Richardson and Chaz Powell.

In addition, linebacker Jamari Lattimore was placed on the non-football illness list.

As noted by Jason Wilde of ESPNWilwaukee.com, Sherrod (leg), Worthy (knee) and Richardson (neck) missed all of the Packers offseason workouts and were not a surprise to land on PUP. However, Neal, Powell and Lattimore all took part in the offseason program and their inclusion is somewhat unusual.

Any players on PUP can be activated at any time prior to the end of the preseason. If they remain on PUP they are ineligible to play for the first six weeks of the regular season.
