The Lions have signed defensive tackle Andre Fluellen for the fourth time in his NFL career, Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com reported Friday.

Fluellen, 28, was a third-round pick of the Lions in 2008. The club re-signed him in March 2012, released him in August, then re-signed him again in December for the final three games of the season. This offseason, he signed with Chicago, but he was let go in May.

Now, he’s back again with Detroit to vie for a reserve role along the interior of the defensive line.

Fluellen (6-2, 302) has appeared in 56 regular-season games since entering the league, making five starts. He played collegiately at Florida State.

In other transactions Friday, the Lions placed offensive lineman Leroy Harris and wide receiver Devin Thomas on the active / physically unable to perform list. They also put defensive end Ronnell Lewis on the active / non-football illness list. The Lions’ reserve moves were disclosed in the NFL’s official transaction log.
