The Baltimore Ravens and fullback Vonta Leach appear to be headed toward a reunion.
According to Dave Hutchinson of the Newark Star Ledger, Leach will make a decision on which team he will play for this season on Friday and is learning toward heading back to Baltimore.
Leach was released by the Ravens in May in a cap-related move. He then met with a handful of teams in free agency including the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins but was unable to find a deal he deemed suitable.
The Giants and Ravens both had standing offers on the table to Leach. The deal with New York was reportedly a one-year deal for the veteran minimum. The Ravens have kept the deal they offered Leach before his release on the table. He was scheduled to make $3 million this season before being let go. The deal Baltimore tried to negotiate with Leach before his release was for $2 million with the ability to make the final $1 million back in incentives.
If those deals are still available to Leach, it seems pretty obvious why he’s leaning toward a return trip to Baltimore.
