Ryan Miller awake, alert, has movement in extremities

The player taken from the practice field in Berea, Ohio on Saturday was Browns offensive lineman Ryan Miller.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Miller was awake, alert, and had movement in his extremities.

Acquired in the 2011 draft with the sixth-round pick that came to Cleveland with running back Peyton Hillis for quarterback Brady Quinn, Miller played in eight games last season.

He was taken to the Cleveland Clinic main campus for further evaluation.

UPDATE 8:01 p.m. ET:  The Browns have announced that Miller has a concussion, and that he likely will be released from the hospital tonight.

I’m not seeing any reduction in injuries after all the new rules limiting contact. Zero.

Ryan Miller was actually drafted in the fifth round with the 160th pick overall. The pick did come from Denver as part of the Hillis-Quinn swap.

Before the Hillis trade everybody was screaming in Denver for McDaniels to play Hillis. Shortly after the trade we found out the real reason McDaniels didn’t want Hillis, he was hitting on his wife during a few practices. NO JOKE.

Never want to see injuries like that, whether its a player from your team or not. Hopefully everything is ok.

It’s good to hear he’s doing well, any injury that requires the player be backboarded is always scary. I’ll drink one for Ryan miller tonight.
