Cardinals running back Ryan Williams watched part of Sunday’s practice with an ice pack on his right knee, multiple media outlets reported this afternoon.

Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic tweeted a picture of the third-year running back watching practice.

According to Mike Sando of ESPN.com, who retweeted Somers’ report, Williams was a participant earlier in the session. Also, Bob McManaman of the Arizona Republic noted that Williams “doesn’t appear to be limping much at all.”

It’s not uncommon for players to get a rest here and there during practice, and why Williams was a spectator for part of practice is unclear. However, the 23-year-old back missed his rookie season with a right knee injury and most of 2012 with shoulder injuries, so any absence from practice will draw some notice.
