Jaguars guard totals car, practices anyway

Football is a collision sport, and nobody knows that today better than Jaguars guard Drew Nowak.

According to the Associated Press, Nowak was back on the practice field Sunday, a day after he totaled his car in a wreck.

Nowak was driving to the team hotel when another driver ran a red light, and smashed into to the passenger side of his 2001 Mercedes-Benz.

He said he “didn’t really have any time to react. I just kind of tensed up and took it.

“If somebody was sitting next to me, they might have gotten really hurt.”

Nowak escaped with only a minor cut to his right elbow, but he practiced anyway.

We’re glad he got through that without repercussions.

He must be spending his money wisely if his car was 12 years old.

Is this supposed to imply he’s some kind of hero or something? I totaled my car in high school and made football practice that afternoon. My wife got t-boned on her way to drop the kids off at daycare about 15 years ago and was at work a couple of hours after having her car totaled and the air bags deploying.

Please just stop the hero worship of guys making millions per year.

He’s ready for the train wreck that is the Jags season this year, and every year.
