Broncos starting center Dan Koppen was “carted off with [a] leg injury” on Sunday, Mike Klis of the Denver Post reported.

The nature and seriousness of the injury is not known.

Koppen, 33, started 12 games for the Broncos in 2012 in place of J.D. Walton, who suffered a broken ankle vs. Oakland on Sept. 30. Walton had offseason surgery on the injured ankle and is on the active / physically unable to perform list.

UPDATE 2:51 p.m. ET: Guard Manny Ramirez is the Broncos’ center for the time being, according to Klis. Per the Post, reserve center C.J. Davis suffered a leg injury Saturday, further stressing the depth at center at least in the short term.

  1. Wow that sucks. Koppen is a great center and I always appreciated his ply when he was with the Pats. I was sorry to see him go.

And its almost never good when the phrase “cart off” is used. Good luck Dan and heal up soon !

  2. Does Manning try to get Heff Saturday to come back and play? One would think even if his skills have diminished Peyton would want an experienced Center to make the calls. But if that happens might need a beteran tailback to help out in pass pro.

  3. Pastaidiot, why don’t you take that idiot saying of yours and get the hell off of bronco boards. Welker was signed as a free agent you ignorant tool
