Laurent Robinson to work out for Dolphins

AP

Former Cowboys and Jaguars receiver Laurent Robinson’s had a few interviews, but hasn’t found a job yet.

After visiting the Lions and the Jets recently, he’s staying closer to home for this one.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Robinson will work out for the Dolphins Tuesday. Robinson lives in the Miami area, so he’s already in the neighborhood.

The Dolphins are looking for depth after losing Armon Binns to a knee injury.

When well, Robinson has been a productive downfield threat, scoring 11 touchdowns for the Cowboys two years ago. But a series of concussions has limited him recently, and that may have also scared some teams off.

  1. LOL, says something about the state of your receiving corp when you would prefer someone with a multiple concussion history who can’t find work over your starter!

Guess you can’t blame it all on the receivers in small D though, if they had Eli throwing to them they would all be pro bowlers!

  2. Robinson made his money when Jacksonville overpaid for an NFL journeyman with 1 solid year. You need to retire or be faced with long term consequences due to the concussions.

  3. It sucks to hear the news about Binns… he was turning into a awesome gem. However having Robinson can’t be nearly as bad as Anthony Armstrong or Leganuu.

  4. “But a series of concussions has limited him recently, and that may have also scared some teams off.”

…and when he looks down at his shirt, he SWEARs his number is 18.

    That’s not good.

  5. He had a solid year in Dallas. You can’t blame him for Jacksonvillie I mean look at their QB’s Gabbert and Henne. He could be a very solid #4 if he has recovered from the concussions.

  6. Sign him to a vet minimum, incentive based salary.
We have Wallace, Hartline & Gibson set. And Rishard Matthews and McNutt may be 4th & 5th. 6th will be fought out with Jeff Fuller, and the rest. If Robinson is healthy and good great for him, and us. If not we can use his knowledge during camp to help the lower tier players.
Concussions are a bitch. Ask Ryan Swope. Hope Robinson is making the right choice for him health wise.
