John Sullivan feeling great after microfracture surgery

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has talked a lot about breaking the single-season rushing record and he’s moved on to ruminating about Emmitt Smith’s all-time mark.

Neither record is going to be easy to come by, but if Peterson is able to get there he is going to need a lot of help from his offensive line. It’s good news for him, then, that John Sullivan has been a full participant in the team’s training camp practices.

Sullivan had microfracture surgery on his left knee in late January in order to make Sullivan less likely to experience problems with damaged cartilage in the future. Sullivan said that the surgery and recovery were not the “horror stories” of the past and that he’s not having any difficulties returning to work.

“We didn’t talk about it too much, because there were kind of some unknowns,” Sullivan said, via Tom Pelissero of USA Today. “But at this point, I’m out on the field, I’m practicing, I’m playing at a hundred percent and I feel great.”

Sullivan had an excellent season in 2012 and was a big part of the reason why Peterson nearly toppled Dickerson. The team’s counting on more of the same from him this season and his return to health makes it likelier that they’ll get it.

  1. As with all injured players … the surgery was successful … the rehab is ahead of schedule … and they’ll be back 100%.

  2. Vikingstillidie: you are probably correct but don’t give these trolls any love, best thing to do is ignore them. As far as Sully, this guy is a class act, just listen to his guest appearances on KFAN. The one where Florio was asked about Sully on air when he didn’t know the Vikes center was in studio is classic. One of the best in the league, on the field and off.

  3. The only reason this guy wasn’t in PFT’s top 100 players is because the guys who made the rankings don’t know anything about offensive line play. Not that I do either, but I’ve heard people say he’s good.

  4. What else is the guy going to say? The surgery was horrible and I will never return to my former self? He just wants everyone to think he is 100% so they don’t start diving at his legs like Jared Allen has been known to do.

The only shocker here is that he didn’t come out and talk about his personal goals for the year like his teammates Allen and Peterson. So there is one player with class on a team of 53. Still not a very good percentage but Jennings used to be a model citizen till he signed with the Vikings. Must be something in the drinking water.

  5. So good to see a handful of comments and nearly half are from the closet Viking fans tokyo, whatthe? & filth. It’s the only explanation for why they are always commenting on the Viking threads. Keep it up girls!

LOVE to read our girls, whatjushappened and filthymcnasty comment on something YOUR TEAM doesn’t have…..an offensive line.

Holy crap….51 sacks given up last year……doesn’t bode well for Rodgers after retirement.

Erin will only be a nice guy for so long. Once he gets pummeled again, he will rip Teddy and McCoach for their lack of protection.

I thought the packers “build from within”? If they do, THEY FORGOT THE OFFENSIVE LINE!!!!

Keep it coming girls……your comments show your nervousness!!!!!!!
