The Giants and Jets share a stadium, and that’s about it.

But as part of the process of putting his team on notice, Giants General Manager Jerry Reese said he was installing a clock in the Giants locker room, to count down the minutes until someone is playing the Super Bowl in their building.

It was almost Jets-like in its bold confidence, harkening back to Rex Ryan guarantees, even if it was far more subtle.

“I would never, ever compare Jerry Reese to anything associated with the Jets,” Giants guard Chris Snee said Monday, via Gary Myers of the New York Daily News.

Zing.

While the Giants disappointed down the stretch last year, they are certainly a better bet to host a Super Bowl on their home field than their neighbors. And perhaps living so close together has caused a little bravado to creep into the normally mature Giants offices.
