Chargers add a fourth quarterback

The Chargers made it through the early days of training camp with three quarterbacks.  With preseason games approaching, they’ve added a fourth.

The team has announced that quarterback Nathan Enderle has been added to the roster.  He joins Philip Rivers, Charlie Whitehurst, and Brad Sorensen on the roster.

It’s a surprise the Chargers had only four quarterbacks.  With up to 90 men in camp, three quarterbacks end up throwing a lot of passes.

A fifth-round draft pick of the Bears in 2011, Enderle has played for the Jaguars and previously spent time this year with the Titans.

They didn’t have just 3 quarterbacks. Enderle replaces Mike Hermann, who just got cut in a roster move I read about on this site, today.

What a sorry group of quarterbacks.

The chargers had 4 quarterbacks this whole camp until they released Mike Herrman yesterday, an undrafted qb from RPI. Please be informed about a post before you write it.

Enderle, Whitehurst, & Sorenson. I think that’s the law firm that represented my wife during the divorce proceedings.

He could probably be the starting Linebacker on the Packers…

Enderle was a Martz protege in Chicago. Martz praised Enderle’s smarts, but IIRC he never made it on the field during the season. When Martz left, Enderle was cut soon after. I wish the guy well, but it certainly sounds like the Chargers are bringing in another “camp arm.”

Enderle might want to scrub that “2012 Jaguars” off his resume though… on the bench behind Gabbert & Henne doesn’t exactly scream “hire me.”

Man, I remember towards the end of the 2011 season when Cutler was on injured reserve and Caleb Hanie sucking more than a vaccuum cleaner in a blowjob competition, many fans and some players were calling for the coaches to put Enderle out there for at least a few series of the last 2 games, but he didn’t even take one snap.

The Bears were down to their 3rd QB, whom they literally pulled off the streets, and they wouldn’t even bother to see if Enderle had anything at all.

He couldn’t beat out Gabbert, but maybe he can beat out Rivers.
