High ankle sprain for Rodgers-Cromartie

Broncos Camp Football AP

The Broncos got another scare in practice today, as cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was hauled off on a cart.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Rodgers-Cromartie suffered (only) a high ankle sprain.

While that would still keep him off the field for a bit, it’s not the big bad news such as they received on Dan Koppen, who tore his ACL earlier in camp.

High ankle sprains are typically multiple-week injuries, so the next question will be whether he’s able to return for the opener against the Ravens.

This type of injury can really linger on.

why is this news. If DRC takes part in football activities 2 days in a row, he’s guranteed to come out limp. The guy is made of glass.

Not strong glass like a snapple bottle, the type that is on the top of oil lamps, and breaks if you pick it up too rough

I’ll take a high ankle sprain over anything that could force him to be out for 2 or more months….

Apparently Chris Harris is still unknown to the posters on here. Him and Champ were the best two starting corner backs last year. Do some research.

Injury bug keeps biting the Seahawks, 49ers, and Broncos. 3 of the main teams all of the “experts” pretty much already awarded the next Lombardi trophy to. Too bad for those teams, but that’s the beauty of the NFL. No one knows for sure how the season is going to turn out, and what injuries will happen.

This guy is a stiff and a punk.

Just see his play in Philly last year. He showed up for all of one game and that was after Big Red basically challenged his manhood in front of the team.

Sheesh, I’ve hated this team since Shanahan decided to cop the Bears colors, but come on cheering injuries that’s low. I hope they lose but not because they’re injured. So much sweeter if they just fail.

  31. notoriousjebus says: Jul 31, 2013 4:08 PM

Manning has a glass chin? The guy went 13 seasons without missing a start, sat out one season, then played 17 games last year. I get your a Raiders fan, but if you are going to trash talk at least have it based in reality.

Where does Chris Harris come up in this conversation? Oh yea that 98 yard int touchdown… Champ allowed nothing in the second half of that game. Harris played outstanding as usual. Cant wait until week one so all you ratbird fans will realize last year was a fluke and your qb is garbage. A hailmary is not clutch or elite.

And neither is Manning throwing to his top target..Corey Graham. ( CB). Hailmary involves sending the whole receiving squad deep on a hope that someone will catch it. Throwing to one WR in triple coverage and making the td happened because Jones did a hell of a job catching, flacco did a hell of a job evading the pass rush and locking in on Jacoby and ur “best CB” just couldnt stop it. Hell if u want to downplay that loss…I could easily argue that had it not been for ur Special Teams, that game would have been a blow out. So quit crying before u tarnish Manning’s fan base. Many of us are big time Manning fans…but something about these Denver fans just really makes it hard to root for him smh.

  37. bandzz says: Jul 31, 2013 4:53 PM

And even if the Broncos win in week1…how the hell does that prove anything about last year dummy? New team, new players, new year. Peyton beat the ravens damn near his whole career and just because we defeated the broncos doesn’t mean Peyton was never as good as advertised. Chill out and respect the game and quit act crying about LAST YEAR.

  38. baltimoresnativeson says: Jul 31, 2013 6:46 PM

Don’t be bitter Denver fans. Our qb outplayed yours in that particular game. 3 tds 0 picks. Vs 3 tds 2 picks. Simple as that.
