High ankle sprain for Rodgers-Cromartie

AP

The Broncos got another scare in practice today, as cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was hauled off on a cart.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Rodgers-Cromartie suffered (only) a high ankle sprain.

While that would still keep him off the field for a bit, it’s not the big bad news such as they received on Dan Koppen, who tore his ACL earlier in camp.

High ankle sprains are typically multiple-week injuries, so the next question will be whether he’s able to return for the opener against the Ravens.

  1. I heard he did it try to make a break on one of Manning’s underthrows!!!!
You know what I’m talkin about Baltimore!!!

LOL! Broncos can’t catch a break!

Manning must have underthrown the break too.

  3. why is this news. If DRC takes part in football activities 2 days in a row, he’s guranteed to come out limp. The guy is made of glass.

Not strong glass like a snapple bottle, the type that is on the top of oil lamps, and breaks if you pick it up too rough

  4. Apparently Chris Harris is still unknown to the posters on here. Him and Champ were the best two starting corner backs last year. Do some research.

  5. Injury bug keeps biting the Seahawks, 49ers, and Broncos. 3 of the main teams all of the “experts” pretty much already awarded the next Lombardi trophy to. Too bad for those teams, but that’s the beauty of the NFL. No one knows for sure how the season is going to turn out, and what injuries will happen.

    The Welker Curse. Continues…

And will continue…Mannings “glass chin” is next…

  7. Wow….Broncos news. Next 49ers news, next Seattle news…next RG3 news, next Jets news, next Aaron Hernandez news, next Bronco’s news, next 49ers news, next Seattle news, next RG3 news, next Hernandez news….every channel, outlet, etc is overplaying six teams. It’s like rinse and repeat torture.

  8. He will be back just in time for the ravens game after the broncos beat the ravens down the colts will be on there list to get there beat down to and the other 14 games and playoffs in front of them on there way to the Super Bowl Go broncos !!!

  9. This guy is a stiff and a punk.

Just see his play in Philly last year. He showed up for all of one game and that was after Big Red basically challenged his manhood in front of the team.

    Jacoby Jones says “hi”.

  11. Sheesh, I’ve hated this team since Shanahan decided to cop the Bears colors, but come on cheering injuries that’s low. I hope they lose but not because they’re injured. So much sweeter if they just fail.

Didnt know Colts fans were so ignorant. Youll get your beat down this year from PFM.

I didn’t know one Colts fan apparnetly spoke for all of us.

  13. First their superiors can’t handle their liquor, then Koppen goes down….now cromartie…who’s next? I can’t wait….BRONCOS=FAIL!!
    #RAIDERNATION

  14. Manning has a glass chin? The guy went 13 seasons without missing a start, sat out one season, then played 17 games last year. I get your a Raiders fan, but if you are going to trash talk at least have it based in reality.

Where does Chris Harris come up in this conversation? Oh yea that 98 yard int touchdown… Champ allowed nothing in the second half of that game. Harris played outstanding as usual. Cant wait until week one so all you ratbird fans will realize last year was a fluke and your qb is garbage. A hailmary is not clutch or elite.

“oil lamps”? Hitch up the mule and get into town once in awhile, Jethro.

  17. if you don’t have a little luck you will NEVER win a superbowl.DRC is not the answer to denver winning the super bowl.better hope miller doesnt get to sit out for 4 and manning gets wins before it gets cold..

And neither is Manning throwing to his top target..Corey Graham. ( CB). Hailmary involves sending the whole receiving squad deep on a hope that someone will catch it. Throwing to one WR in triple coverage and making the td happened because Jones did a hell of a job catching, flacco did a hell of a job evading the pass rush and locking in on Jacoby and ur “best CB” just couldnt stop it. Hell if u want to downplay that loss…I could easily argue that had it not been for ur Special Teams, that game would have been a blow out. So quit crying before u tarnish Manning’s fan base. Many of us are big time Manning fans…but something about these Denver fans just really makes it hard to root for him smh.

  19. And even if the Broncos win in week1…how the hell does that prove anything about last year dummy? New team, new players, new year. Peyton beat the ravens damn near his whole career and just because we defeated the broncos doesn’t mean Peyton was never as good as advertised. Chill out and respect the game and quit act crying about LAST YEAR.
