Mike Wallace has a groin injury, says it’s not serious

Mike Wallace AP

As Dolphins receiver Mike Wallace sat out practice today, the team was mum about the reason. But now Wallace has revealed that it’s the result of a minor groin injury.

Wallace confirmed to the Miami Herald that his groin injury is the reason he was held out of practice today, but Wallace said he’s hoping to play in Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game.

It feels pretty good,” Wallace said. “I feel like it’s getting there.”

If Wallace’s groin is anything less than 100 percent healthy, the Dolphins will likely hold him out on Sunday: There’s no reason to risk aggravating an injury in a preseason game. But it’s good news that Wallace thinks he can play, if the team will let him.

It’s really hot in South Florida right now, and dreadfully humid.

A lot of the guys are just getting dehydrated; nothing serious. Summer just shifted into overdrive within the last week and a half out here.

Top 5 WRs in professional football – Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Pierre Garçon, Steve Smith and Santana Moss. In that order.

    One trick pony

All this one trick pony talk… and the idea that Wallace isn’t worth his contract RIGHT NOW… is bogus. Sometimes people don’t pan out (Russel, etc) but rarely do players get contracts that don’t deserve at the moment. Workouts and what’s on paper always make sense. The guys writing the checks and signing the deals aren’t stupid. They don’t get to that position to call the shots if they are stupid.

The thing with groin injuries is, if you feel it, it isn’t good.

His trick is a damn good one. If his one trick (elite speed) draws coverage away from the other receivers, then he’s worth every penny… Nice try hater!… Go Phins!!!

The only way Miami sees a SuperBowl is if they win the host city bid.

Mike can run all the routes, don’t worry about it, he will be just fine, you got to love the experts here, you know they all played pro football, however I think that most of them couldn’t get a job empting trash for the fish. Bill

Your right, NFL player personnel departments never make mistakes. This is the same team that chose free agent Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees and gave Scott Mitchell a small fortune after half a season of success in Detroit.

    vincentbojackson…

You obviously have no idea what you’re talking about… Scott Mitchell was Dan Marino’s backup. It was Detroit that signed him to a big contract to be their starter.

If you’re gonna make fun of a team because of past mistakes, at least get your mistakes right.

    Your opinions are invalid.
