Patriots make a handful of roster moves

The Patriots churned the bottom of their roster, signing four guys and cutting one.

More importantly, head coach Bill Belichick said wide receiver Julian Edelman had been cleared to return to work from the PUP list, adding some depth at a position of great turnover this offseason.

The team announced that they added wide receivers Johnathan Haggerty and Lavasier Tuinei, and defensive linemen Travis Chappelear and Scott Vallone.

They also released rookie defensive back Stephon Morris.

Vallone adds yet another Rutgers guy to the roster, as Bill Belichick continues to collect his buddy Greg Schiano’s old players.

Otherwise, those are names you’ll probably hear next when the Patriots make some cuts.

Good to have Edelman back on the field. This morning local media was speculating he might start the season on PUP.

I agree with youarejealousof6rings on his prognostication of his Steelers record this year 7-9 and that might be a stretch.

Yeah right. They were 11-5 with Matt Cassel and 12-4 with Reche Caldwell as the #1 receiver.

    Good luck with that.

The Steelers fans should be focused on finding a way to beat the Bengals and actually make the playoffs.

7-9 is a little low. I think the Steelers will go at least 8-8.

Good call 6rings, 7-9 sounds about right for the steelers. Pats will win 10-12 and guess who one of those will be(hint Nov 3).

You can say a lot of things about the Patriots.
7 – 9 is not one of them.

My question is – given the Riley Cooper fiasco, why wouldn’t Chip Kelly have signed Tuinei? Had him at Oregon.

Tomorrow’s news: Jaguars claim rookie defensive back Stephon Morris on waivers.

Their division practically assures them a winning record and playoff berth. Question is whether they’ll be able to make any noise in the playoffs. I think their window is starting to close and they’re reaching more than finding with guys.

Pats fans always think this is the year they go 17-0. Excuse me, 16-1.
This year 9-7/10-6. Probably win the division. On the road and out of playoffs in week 1.
That’s reality from every fan outside of Boston. Also what the majority of analysts outside of NE think.
10-6 will be a major accomplishment for this team.
    Dolphins 9-7, Jets 8-8, Buffalo 5-11.
    Keeping it real.

Yes, the record above is correct because there’s only 1 playoff game this year.

having the Jets at 8-8 gives you zero credibility. But keep hating !
