Justin Pugh out indefinitely with concussion

Pugh AP

First-round rookie Justin Pugh has yet to crack the starting lineup with the Giants.  His effort to climb that mountain in his first season has gotten a bit more complicated.

Coach Tom Coughlin told reporters on Friday that Pugh “took a shot in the head” at practice on Thursday, via Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.  Pugh has sustained a concussion, and Coughlin said the former Syracuse left tackle is having headaches.

He’s currently out until he progresses through the concussion protocol, which mandates clearance by an independent neurologist.

Pugh is battling veteran David Diehl for the starting right tackle position.

How horrible. The guy’s career is over before playing even one down for the Giants. 2013 is shaping up to be a disaster for the Giants.

No worries. Just make it to September without seeing the words knee, hamstring, groin or broken in any of these posts and I’ll be happy.

Seriously dude?? Get a grip, there are teams like the 49ers who lost their starting WR, starting LB, and CB. No need to cry about it, Jerry Reese put a TEAM together. The only one that would make or break our season if injured is Eli

“First-round rookie Justin Pugh has yet to crack the starting lineup with the Giants”

Really? You mean the rookie hasn’t cracked the starting lineup so far??? That’s amazing, especially when you consider that the Giants training camp opened a week ago. Today was their first day in pads. I mean, if a guy hasn’t cracked the starting lineup in the first week of the season, I don’t know if he ever will. (And yes, this post is meant to be sarcastic for all of you idiot Redskin fans who can’t pick up on that on your own)

Tough break. Who hit him? He should be fine. We need to keep Eli safe. Go Blue!

Although it´s definitely not the end of the world, it´s bad for him. I guess, he´s gonna be out at least a week, probably more. For a rookie to miss that much time of training camp sets him back quite a bit.

He´s gonna have a hard time cracking the starting lineup anytime soon.

    Tough break for the kid.
