Bears swap out tight ends

With the drop from 90 to 75 roster spots still more than three weeks away, the Bears are tinkering with the tight end position.

Out is Brody Eldridge; in is veteran Leonard Pope.

Pope has 51 starts in a seven-season career that started in Arizona, continued in Kansas City, and most recently extended to Pittsburgh.  Pope has 105 catches for 982 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Eldridge has made 27 appearances and 16 starts in two years with the Colts.  He bounced on and off the Bears’ roster last season before re-signing in January.

In June 2011, when Pope otherwise would have been at a minicamp but for the lockout, he dove into a pool with cellphone, keys, and all saved the life of six-year-old Bryson Moore.

Wasn’t Pope a first round pick a few years ago? Lord knows the Bears could use an upgrade at that position….

If players go to Chicago to die then I guess they go to Pittsburgh to get raped. did Ben put any work in lately? He was on a roll for a while. Girls jumping in front of camera’s two at a time screaming rape and pointing at Roethlisberger. now be nice or I will get started.

Sure, just like Brandon Marshall, Matt Forte, Tim Jennings, Lance Briggs, Johnny Knox, Julius Peppers, Henry Melton, Charles Tillman, Brian Urlacher, who all went to the Pro Bowl as Bears players in the last 3 years.

    They’re really dying out here.

Name a free agent Besides Marshall or Peppers to be a FREE AGENT signing who has been a Bears pro bowler… and if those two are all u can name… then i think my statement is right. Mushin Muhammad made the statement.. i just reminded everyone. OH one last thing… Ben was never arrested or prosecuted for those incidents.. NICE TRY..

Gonna be an interesting year for both the Stealers and Bears, we’ll see who wins more.

Maybe they should call the Eagles, they have a TE who could be available.

Looking at the Bears schedule, I could easily see them 0-6. I can easily see the Pack 0-5. Neither team did much to improve over the past year and maybe aren’t as talented as last year?
The Packers have more than a handful of what if players. If they can play at a high level the team will survive, if not, this is a 6-10 team.

Steelers fans have Down Syndrome! Bettis3636, you truly are retarded!

The Steelers suck now btw….Big Ben is a pedophile rapist and his career is over! Stay off Bear’s posts fool!

HA! when is the last time the Steelers made a good signings? Pittsburgh is a sinking ship. Now that Bengals are a decent team Pittsburgh doesnt have 4 for sure wins in there divisions. They will be fighting to keep out of the basment for the next decade, and I could see the browns are over taking them in the next couple of seasons.

Actually, Moose said Chicago is where “ wide receivers go to die.”

Apparently, nobody told Brandon Marshall that.
