The Bills have signed rookie wide receiver Terrell Sinkfield, the club said Saturday.

A Northern Iowa product, Sinkfield garnered some publicity in the pre-draft process for swift 40-yard-dashes at the University of Minnesota’s Pro Day, including one said to be timed at 4.19 seconds, per Fox Sports North.

Now, Sinkfield (6-0, 200) is trying to find a foothold in the NFL. After going undrafted, he’s had short stints with the Dolphins and Packers. He’ll work to earn a reserve role with the Bills, and he’ll have to maximize the opportunities he gets. Certainly, his speed is an asset -- even if the 4.19-second dash is one that may need to be taken with a grain of salt, as MDS suggested a few months back. But forget the stopwatch -- Sinkfield will need to play fast if he’s to have any chance to make Buffalo’s roster.
