One guy who’ll benefit from the apparent emergence of receiver Dez Bryant is the guy who covers him every day in practice.
Earlier this week, cornerback Morris Claiborne told Pro Football Talk on NBCSN that he and Bryant have been matched up regularly during training camp. Claiborne characterizes their battles as a push.
“I think it’s even,” Claiborne told Erik Kuselias. “You know he gets me, I gets him, I don’t think it’s a fair blowout of either one of us getting each other, but we come out each and every day and try and make each other better, and I feel like me going up against Dez every day, I feel like he’s one of the better receivers in this league and going up against him every day can’t do nothing but make me better.”
Claiborne acknowledged with a laugh that Dez would disagree.
“He probably would, but knowing him he would probably give himself an edge,” Claiborne said.
The practice competition could help both guys get the edge when they go up against their opponents in 2013, which is very good news for the Cowboys.
