At the end of last week, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said that he expected running back Arian Foster to make his training camp practice debut on Sunday after starting camp on the PUP list because of a lingering calf injury.

The calf is holding up just fine, but Foster did not join his teammates on the field as planned on Sunday. Kubiak said, via the team, that Foster did not practice on Sunday because of a sore back.

There doesn’t seem to be much concern that Foster will need to remain on the sideline much longer and it’s certainly understandable that the Texans would continue to opt for the cautious approach with such an important part of their team. It’s an approach that has extended to others with a big hand in the Texans’ success. Defensive end J.J. Watt was a spectator on Sunday with a sore elbow that Kubiak said was not a big concern.

Neither injury will turn into one unless we get a lot closer to the regular season without any improvement.
