The Raiders and Pro Bowl long-snapper Jon Condo have reached agreement on a three-year contract extension, the club said Sunday.

Condo, 31, has been the Raiders’ snapper since 2007.  A season ago, he notched five tackles on special teams and earned Pro Bowl honors for the second time in his career, Also, he made a key fumble recovery on a punt in a win at Kansas City.

In 2012, Condo’s teammates voted him the winner of the club’s “Commitment to Excellence Award” for his work on and off the field.

News of Condo’s new contract comes two days after Oakland signed PK Sebastian Janikowski to a four-year extension.

Now Jon can afford a detached house with a yard.

All you need to do is turn on Week 1 from last season to realize how valuable he is.

    Well deserved Jon!

    How much?

Lord back in Al’s day, he paid Condo more than Michael Bush…please just be for close to the minimum.

Long snappers are easily the most overlooked position in the game. While I would love to be one myself, a good long snapper is invaluable. It’s the reason we lost our opener last year against the chargers. Hopefully we can get the punter position nailed down.

Keep at it, Reggie! Veldheer, Houston and Reece should be next.

We all saw the debacle on MNF when Condo got hurt and Goethel had to step in .. It was a nightmare.. Why haven’t the Raiders signed a back-up long snapper?

Because when you are building a winning franchise, you begin with the long snapper.

McKenzie is just spending some of that cap space he’s going to have next year to retain some of what’s left of the roster. Ask any Charger fan what happens when you neglect special teams.

Definitely a position of need for the Raiders. Lots of punts and FGs in their future. SMH.

Good thing. Everyone knows the Raiders need a good long snapper. LOTS of punting going on…

I see a future condo bust in Seattle.

Keep the hate coming. Raiders will turn this ship around alot sooner than your team.

Football has 3 dimensions: offense, defense and special teams. Ignore one and it’ll bite you in the ass.

Snapper for the team’s all-time leading scorer (who just signed a four year extension). No brainer.
