Dolphins reward Reshad Jones with four-year extension

Jones

The Dolphins promised to engage in contract talks with safety Reshad Jones when Jones ended his boycott of offseason workouts. And the Dolphins have now held up their end of the bargain.

Not only have they talked. They’ve struck a deal.

Per a league source, the Dolphins have signed Jones to a four-year extension. He’s under contract through 2017.

A fifth-round pick out of Georgia in the 2010 draft, Jones was due to make $1.323 million in 2013.

In July, Jones said he wants to be known as one of the premiere safeties in the NFL. While the numbers aren’t in yet, Jones likely will be getting paid like one of the premiere safeties in the NFL.
