McCarthy hasn’t closed door on Bulaga, yet

Packers doctors have determined that left tackle Bryan Bulaga has a torn ACL in his knee. But Bulaga has sought a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews. Until it comes, coach Mike McCarthy isn’t ready to assume Bulaga is done for the year.

We’re still waiting on a medical opinion,” McCarthy told reporters on Tuesday, via Vic Ketchman of the team’s official website. “Bryan is still hopeful of giving it a go. Nothing has been finalized. He doesn’t even look like he’s injured.”

Usually, the second opinion is used by the player to protect him from being exposed to harm by a team that wants to see its players play. In this case, Bulaga seems to be looking for a conclusion that the injury, whatever it is, will allow him to play.
