The Cowboys and free-agent guard Brandon Moore are “in talks,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday night.
Moore is contemplating his next step, Rapoport said.
According to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas, owner Jerry Jones hinted Tuesday that the club could be looking at veteran guard help. Archer also reported that the Cowboys and Moore have communicated and that a “deal could go down quickly.”
Fox Sports’ Mike Garofolo also reported the Cowboys and Moore had communicated.
Moore, 33, was the Jets’ long-time starting right guard, and Dallas has some instability at that position. He is just one of two unsigned non-retired players left on PFT’s Free Agent Hot 100, with Richard Seymour the other.
Moore, a defensive lineman in college at Illinois, made 142 regular-season starts along the offensive line for the Jets.
