During Thursday’s edition of PFT on NBCSN, one of the many topics was 49ers receiver A.J. Jenkins.
A disappointment as a rookie first-rounder whom the 49ers, the team needs Jenkins to step it up in his second season. Especially with Michael Crabtree out for much of the year.
The good news? Jenkins caught a pass, for 11 yards. The bad news? He fumbled it.
Another throw to Jenkins from backup quarterback Colt McCoy was overthrown and intercepted by Broncos safety Mike Adams.
And another fumble, not by Jenkins, was returned for a touchdown by Denver newcomer Shaun Phillips.
Jenkins had no catches in the 2012 season, appearing in three regular-season games and two postseason games. In the 2012 preseason, Jenkins caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.
